It seems as though Republicans and conservatives are truly experiencing an identity crisis. During the first day of the Conservative Political Action Conference, the first set of speakers ended up having contradicting messages on the direction of the Republican party. Sen. Marco Rubio stuck to embracing good ol’ conservative values while Sen. Rand Paul argued that the party must change. “The GOP of old has grown stale and moss-covered. I don’t think we need to name any names here, do we?” But opposition to President Obama and his administration was the uniting factor for all the attendees.
