Ohio State Senator Nina Turner – who introduced a bill that would require men seeking Viagra to undergo a stress test and meet with a sex therapist — joined The Last Word on Thursday. It’s a bill msnbc’s Lawrence O’Donnell referred to as the “single funniest piece of legislation” he had ever read.
Senator Turner outlined what would be more of the necessary requirements for men to obtain the erectile dysfunction medication, from discussing “the possible side effects and risks” to “alternative therapy, such as natural remedies or celibacy.”
“We should be absolutely embarrassed as a nation that we are going backwards in time instead of forward,” Turner said. “And to treat women as if we’re feeble-minded and incapable of making decisions for our bodies is shameful.”
