Ted Nugent officially went off the deep end this weekend while stumping for Mitt Romney and some of his remarks have prompted a secret service investigation. In a radio interview at the NRA convention Nugent told the crowd that they should be able to get “a couple of thousand votes per person who’s here to vote for Mitt Romney in November.” (good luck with that)
Then the hard rocker shifted focus to a tirade of lies about our government and the Obama administration. “If you don’t know our government is wiping it’s a** with the constitution you’re living under a rock some place”. He went on to call the President a criminal and said “if Barack Obama becomes the President in November again, I will either be dead or in jail by this time next year” and “we’ll be a suburb of Indonesia”.
Now, the Same guy who held up a machine gun on stage at a concert in 2007 and said “hey Obama, you might want to suck on one of these, you punk,” called for heads to roll. “Remember we’re Americans because we defied the King, we didn’t negotiate and compromise with the King, we defied the emperors we are patriots, we are brave heart, we need to ride into that battle field and chop their heads off in November.”
Nugent certainly has long history of Inflammatory remarks and these will just be added to the list.
The Romney campaign has been slow to respond to Nugent’s remarks even though they were quick to pounce all over Hillary Rosen’s comments last week. Today, Romney Spokeswoman Andrea Saul did not condemn Nugent outright but released a statement saying, “Divisive language is offensive no matter what side of the political aisle it comes from. Mitt Romney believes everyone needs to be civil…” You can watch the video below:
