Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer today touted the Supreme Court’s decision on the state’s immigration law as a victory for anti-immigration policy. In response, Rep. Raul Grijalva is calling Brewer “delusional.”
“This law was delusional when it began and unfortunately our governor continues to be delusional,” Grijalva, an Arizona Democrat who co-chairs the Congressional Progressive Caucus, said on The Ed Show.
The Supreme Court’s ruling blocked much of the law, but kept in tact, for now, a key provision that allows police officers to check the immigration status of people who are stopped for any reason, even for minor offenses.
