Does House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi have dark secrets about GOP presidential hopeful Newt Gingrich?
For the second time in recent weeks, she hinted that she does. And then indicated she doesn’t.
In a CNN interview last night, Pelosi said that Gingrich is not going to be president. Asked why she’s so sure, Pelosi said “there is something I know.”
“He’s not going to be president of the United States,” Pelosi said. “That’s not going to happen. Let me just make my prediction and stand by it; it isn’t going to happen.”
Pelosi spokesman Drew Hammill said today that what she knows is that Gingrich will not be president.
Previously, Pelosi hinted that she knew a lot about Gingrich because she served on the House Ethics Committee that investigated his conduct. She later said she was referring to material already in the public record.
