Can you feel the love, social media?
After more than two decades together, Sir Elton John legally wed his partner David Furnish on Sunday. The couple invited the entire world to share in their love and excitement through social media.
In late March, John and Furnish spoke to Matt Lauer about their wedding plans. “We’ll do it very quietly,” John told Lauer. “But we will do it and it will be a joyous occasion and we will have our children.”
On Saturday, John posted a formal invitation on his Instagram account @eltonjohn, which seems to have been created for this event, inviting the world to join in on his special day.
Using the hashtag #ShareTheLove, the two grooms and guests shared the wedding love through Instagram so all of social media could follow along in a live play-by-play wedding album.
