With the midterm elections less than 50 days away, the Republican National Committee is energizing voters with the launch of a new app.
The Voter Challenge app goes beyond “liking” a candidate’s page, and works similarly to the ALS “Ice Bucket Challenge.” By using the “Voter to Voter” app, Republican voters will pledge their support to vote in the midterm elections and then challenge three friends in their social media network to do the same. The GOP hopes the creation of the app will help push people to the polls because “there will be a close election in every state this year and EVERY vote is going to matter.”
While to some this may seem to be putting a lot of pressure on registered Republicans, the RNC is not worried. “Our voters respond well to [peer pressure],” RNC spokeswoman Kirsten Kukowski told Politico.
