President Obama’s job approval is at its lowest rating in almost two years, according to a McClatchy-Marist poll released Tuesday.
The latest McClatchy-Marist poll found that 41% of registered voters approve of the job President Obama is doing—a 9-point drop from April. These results are in line with Gallup’s new poll showing a drop in the president’s approval rating to 47.9%, which marks his second consecutive quarter where his approval average has dipped.
However, the president is still ahead when it comes to Congress. The McClatchy-Marist poll shows that 33% of respondents approve of the job congressional Democrats are doing. Only 22% of registered voters think congressional Republicans are doing a good job.
