Today’s installment of campaign-related news items that won’t necessarily generate a post of their own, but may be of interest to political observers:
* In another new ad from the Obama campaign, actor Morgan Freeman notes the president’s accomplishments, but stresses the challenges Obama inherited when he took office.
* The latest Public Policy Polling national survey for Daily Kos/SEIU shows Mitt Romney with a four-point advantage, 50% to 46%.
* In New Hampshire, a new Suffolk poll shows the president tied with Romney at 47% each.
* In Pennsylvania, Public Policy Polling put Obama’s lead at seven points, 51% to 44%, while Quinnipiac shows the president with a four-point lead, 50% to 46%.
* Also in Pennsylvania, PPP shows Sen. Bob Casey (D) up by double digits in his re-election bid, 50% to 39%. * Mitt Romney and the Republican Party raised a whopping $170 million in September, which is pretty extraordinary, though it’s a little shy of Obama’s $181 million haul from the same month. * In New Jersey, which is not consider a battleground state, Obama leads Romney in a new Quinnipiac poll, 51% to 43%. * And in the latest poll from the Romney campaign, the Republican candidate criticizes Obama for cutting government spending. It’s that kind of campaign.
