Today’s installment of campaign-related news items that won’t necessarily generate a post of their own, but may be of interest to political observers:
* As Wisconsin voters head to the polls to vote in recall primaries today, Gov. Scott Walker (R) is already attacking Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett (R) with a new slogan: “Forward — Walker;” “Backwards — Barrett.” I thought the right considered “forward” code for “communism”?
* Mitt Romney was pressed last night for an explanation for the “over $1.5 million in foreign tax credits” he’s received since 2000. Expect to hear more about this in the coming months.
* Rick Santorum hid his Romney endorsement about as well as he possibly could, sending an email in the middle of the night with a non-descript subject line with no advance notice to the media.
* In Ohio, Public Policy Polling shows President Obama leading Romney by seven points, 50% to 43%, thanks in large part to an enormous gender gap.
