Today’s installment of campaign-related news items that won’t necessarily generate a post of their own, but may be of interest to political observers:
* Republican voters in Texas won’t just put Mitt Romney over the top in the race for the GOP presidential nomination today, they’ll also vote in a heated U.S. Senate primary. Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst is the favorite, but if he fails to get 50%, there will be a runoff.
* Though George W. Bush and Barack Obama both voluntarily disclosed the names of their fundraising bundlers, Romney still refuses, keeping the names secret.
* After a rather extraordinary screw-up, Rep. Thaddeus McCotter (R-Mich.) is going to have to seek re-election as a write-in candidate.
* msnbc’s Chuck Todd asked Virginia Gov. Bob “Ultrasound” McDonnell (R) this morning whether he’s turned over materials to the Romney campaign as part of the VP vetting process. The governor replied, “Nope.”
