Today’s installment of campaign-related news items that won’t necessarily generate a post of their own, but may be of interest to political observers:
* It didn’t take long for the Obama campaign to take advantage of new reports documenting Mitt Romney’s background in outsourcing jobs. In this new ad, the narration concludes, “Romney’s never stood up to China. All he’s ever done is send them our jobs.”
* In Ohio, Public Policy Polling shows President Obama leading his Republican challenger, but the margin is shrinking. Whereas Obama led by seven points a month ago, he’s now up by just three points, 47% to 44%.
* Speaking of Ohio, no Democratic incumbent senator has faced as many attack ads financed by outside, far-right groups as Sen. Sherrod Brown (D). The DSCC hopes to keep Brown financially competitive, and has reserved $5.1 million in air time in the Buckeye State.
* It’s primary day in New York, where Rep. Charlie Rangel (D) hopes to keep his lengthy career alive.
