Today’s installment of campaign-related news items that won’t necessarily generate a post of their own, but may be of interest to political observers:
* A new Washington Post/ABC News poll shows President Obama and Mitt Romney tied at 47% among likely voters. (Among registered voters, they’re also tied at 46% each.)
* Two new polls from Public Policy Polling show Obama leading Romney in Virginia and North Carolina, but by very different margins. The president’s lead in Virginia is eight points (50% to 42%), but only one point in North Carolina (47% to 46%).
* Karl Rove’s attack operation, Crossroads GPS, is launching another $2.5 million worth of ads, this time focusing on U.S. Senate campaigns. Nearly half of the money will be targeted against Sen. Sherrod Brown (D) of Ohio.
* The Republican primary in Missouri’s U.S. Senate race is getting heated, with Sarah Steelman launching this new attack ad targeting her primary opponent, John Brunner.
