Today’s installment of campaign-related news items that won’t necessarily generate a post of their own, but may be of interest to political observers:
* The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) announced this morning it’s launching robocalls in 50 U.S. House districts, tying vulnerable Republicans to Paul Ryan’s budget plan. DCCC Chairman Steve Israel said in a statement, “From now until Election Day, Democrats will be on offense and in overdrive, seizing this golden opportunity.”
* As Tricia noted earlier, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) will deliver the keynote address at the Republican National Convention, which begins in two weeks. Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), meanwhile, will introduce Mitt Romney at the convention. Both had been considered for Romney’s VP slot.
* Paul Ryan will be in Las Vegas today, attending a fundraiser with billionaire casino magnate Sheldon Adelson at one of his hotels.
* Planned Parenthood Action Fund released this new 30-second ad overnight, blasting the Romney-Ryan agenda as it relates to women’s reproductive rights.
