Today’s installment of campaign-related news items that won’t necessarily generate a post of their own, but may be of interest to political observers:
* In Virginia, Democratic gubernatorial hopeful Terry McAuliffe launched his latest television ad this morning, featuring support from former Republican state lawmaker Katherine Waddell.
* It’s primary day in New Jersey’s U.S. Senate special election. Newark Mayor Cory Booker is widely expected to win the Democratic nod easily, and will probably face Republican Steve Lonegan in the fall.
* In North Carolina, public concerns about Republican radicalism appear to have created an unexpected result: they’re helping Sen. Kay Hagan’s (D) re-election prospects. New results from Public Policy Polling show the incumbent senator, who is widely seen as vulnerable, leading her most likely Republican rivals by eight points.
