* For the first time since last week’s Supreme Court arguments, President Obama addressed the legal state of the Affordable Care Act today. He expressed confidence that the court majority will still do the right thing.
* Democracy advocate and Nobel laureate Daw Aung San Suu Kyi didn’t just fare well in Burma’s parliamentary elections over the weekend, she won by a surprisingly large margin.
* The Assad government has promised that “its armed forces would withdraw from population centers by April 10 and stop shooting within 48 hours after that date if rebels also stop.”
* A small homemade bomb started a small fire outside of a Planned Parenthood office in Wisconsin last night. There were no reported injuries.
* In yet another 5-4 decision, the Supreme Court ruled today that “officials may strip-search people arrested for any offense, however minor, before admitting them to jails even if the officials have no reason to suspect the presence of contraband.”
* A suspect is reportedly in custody: “A gunman opened fire Monday morning at a small Christian university in Oakland, Calif., killing six people and wounding three, the Associated Press reported, citing officials. Earlier reports said five had been killed.”
