Today’s installment of campaign-related news items that won’t necessarily generate a post of their own, but may be of interest to political observers:
* The Obama campaign released its closing negative ad over the weekend, hitting Mitt Romney on taxes, Medicare, and Wall Street. It will air in swing states.
* With President Obama leaving the trail temporarily due to Hurricane Sandy, former President Bill Clinton is expanding his travel schedule, campaigning this week in Minnesota, Iowa, Colorado, Ohio, Virginia, New Hampshire, and Wisconsin.
* In Ohio, the latest CNN poll shows Obama leading Romney by four (50% to 46%); Public Policy Polling also shows Obama ahead by four (51% to 47%); while the Ohio News Organization shows the candidates tied at 49% each.
* In Virginia, the latest Washington Post poll found Obama with a four-point advantage, 51% to 47%. The same poll found Tim Kaine (D) leading Virginia’s U.S. Senate race by seven.
* In Florida, PPP shows Obama leading Romney by one point, 49% to 48%.
