Today’s installment of campaign-related news items that won’t necessarily generate a post of their own, but may be of interest to political observers:
* In the new Washington Post/ABC News poll, President Obama leads Mitt Romney in a hypothetical matchup, 52% to 43% among all adults, and 51% to 45% among registered voters.
* Sheldon Adelson has been largely responsible for keeping Newt Gingrich in the race, but the casino magnate has nevertheless “relayed assurances” to the Romney camp that he’ll also support the eventual nominee.
* In advance of tomorrow’s primary in Colorado, Public Policy Polling shows Romney with a 14-point lead over Rick Santorum, 40% to 26%. Gingrich is running third with 18%.
* In New Hampshire, the latest WMUR Granite State Poll shows Obama leading Romney by double digits, 50% to 40%. The GOP tends to look at New Hampshire as a key pick-up opportunity.
