Today’s installment of campaign-related news items that won’t necessarily generate a post of their own, but may be of interest to political observers:
* There have been quite a few polls out of Ohio released over the last few days, but the most recent I’ve seen comes from Quinnipiac, which shows Mitt Romney up by three over Rick Santorum, 34% to 31%.
* With several new endorsements from high-profile GOP figures, it appears that the Republican Party establishment has finally resigned itself to a Romney nomination.
* Newt Gingrich isn’t likely to have a very good day tomorrow, but he’s almost certain to win his former home state of Georgia.
* After having called President Obama a “snob” for having supported helping young people go to college, Santorum conceded on Friday his remarks were “probably not the smartest thing.”
* A NBC News/Marist poll released over the weekend found Tim Kaine (D) with a surprisingly large lead over George Allen (R) in Virginia’s U.S. Senate race, 48% to 39%.
