Today’s installment of campaign-related news items from across the country.
* A new Monmouth poll, released this morning, showed Joe Biden leading Donald Trump nationally, 53% to 41%. Among the tidbits: 50% of voters have ruled out voting for the incumbent president, while 34% have ruled out supporting the Delaware Democrat.
* Republican officials were pleased to announce late yesterday that the joint RNC/Trump fundraising committee raised $131 million in June, which was an impressive haul. What they did not know, however was that the joint DNC/Biden fundraising committee raised $141 million over the same period. It’s the second month in a row in which Trump and his team were outraised.
* After last week’s primaries, it appears Reps. Yvette Clarke (D-N.Y.) and Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.) are on track to prevail, and both are overwhelming favorites to hold onto their seats in November.
* In Montana’s closely watched U.S. Senate race, the latest University of Montana poll found Gov. Steve Bullock (D) leading incumbent Sen. Steve Daines (R), 47% to 43%.
* In Texas, Public Policy Polling found Biden with a narrow lead over Trump, 48% to 46%. The same survey showed incumbent Sen. John Cornyn (R) ahead of M.J. Hegar (D), 42% to 35%.
