Today’s installment of campaign-related news items that won’t necessarily generate a post of their own, but may be of interest to political observers:
* President Obama’s campaign released a new TV ad this morning, which will air during the opening ceremony of the 2012 Olympic Games. Note, it includes excerpts from the same Norfolk speech Republicans are pretending to be outraged about.
* Sheldon Adelson is reportedly planning a multi-million-dollar campaign to undermine Obama’s support among Jewish voters, prompting a group of wealthy and influential Democrats, including Harvey Weinstein and Rahm Emanuel, to launch a counter-offensive.
* Priorities USA Action’s Olympic-themed ad targeting Mitt Romney has been taken down, following complaints from the International Olympics Committee.
* After running a series of attack ads, the Romney campaign is launching a $1 million radio ad campaign, criticizing Obama for running attack ads.
