That was the headline above an opinion piece Thursday in “Israel Today,” a free daily newspaper owned and distributed by GOP mega donor Sheldon Adelson.
The Las Vegas-based casino magnate — whose $24.9 billion fortune currently makes him #14 on Forbes’ list of the world’s richest people — has reportedly donated over $70 million to conservative super PACs and outside groups in 2012. Adelson and his wife, Dr. Miriam Adelson, first bankrolled former House Speaker Newt Gingrich to the tune of $20 million during the GOP primaries, before then shelling out another $20 million to “Restore Our Future,” a super PAC supporting Governor Mitt Romney’s bid for the presidency.
Adelson founded the free newspaper — Israel’s largest by circulation — in 2007.
The sub-headline of the opinion piece reads: “The second candidacy of Obama in the White House is fated to lead to an economic recession bigger than 2008.”
