Is the tide be turning on gun control reform?
On the NOW with Alex Wagner panel today, Senator Claire McCaskill (D-MO) said that “the vast majority of gun owners in America do not think like Wayne LaPierre and the NRA.”
McCaskill might be onto something.
This morning, Wonkblog uncovered a Kaiser poll showing that Americans worry more about gun violence than losing their job, not being able to pay their rent or mortgage or being the victim of a terror attack.
42% of Americans are worried about being a victim of gun violence, compared with 40% who worry about losing their job, 39% who worry about not being able to pay their rent or mortgage and 38% who worry about being the victim of a terrorist attack. There’ll be no shortage of debate on gun control this week in Washington. But will public opinion hold sway in the halls of Congress?
