Our friend and NOWist, Rolling Stone Executive Editor Eric Bates, recently conducted an interview with President Obama, which appears in the latest issue of the magazine (on newsstands today). At the end of the interview, Eric shared an anecdote with the President courtesy of his six-year-old daughter. Here’s how the article’s author, Douglas Brinkley, recounted the episode:
As we left the Oval Office, executive editor Eric Bates told Obama that he had asked his six-year-old if there was anything she wanted him to say to the president. … [S]he said, ‘Tell him: You can do it.’ Obama grinned. … ‘You know, kids have good instincts,’ Obama offered. ‘They look at the other guy and say, “Well, that’s a bull—er, I can tell.”
Notably, the Obama campaign is not denying that the President was referring to Governor Mitt Romney.
