President Obama said during the campaign that his re-election would break the “fever” and lead to compromise inside Congress. Early signs from Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and House Speaker John Boehner suggest that might be case.
At a press briefing earlier today, Reid discussed a morning conversation he had with Boehner, hinting that there could be room for agreement over how to solve the looming fiscal cliff of tax hikes and spending cuts. “He is not drawing lines in the sand,” Reid said. “I am not drawing any lines in the sand.”
