Winter hasn’t officially begun yet, but try telling that to the folks in the middle of the U.S.
Some in the Midwest and Plains were preparing Monday for their third heavy snowfall in less than two weeks.
Parts of seven states in the country’s midsection are blanketed in winter storm warnings and advisories Monday — and they will soon be blanketed in snow, according to meteorologists.
The Dakotas, Minnesota, Northern Iowa, northwest Wisconsin and Kansas could all see accumulations during the storm, which is due to start late Monday and last into Tuesday.
The Minneapolis and St. Paul metro area already woke up to up to 3 inches of snow Monday morning, according to Weather.com, while Denver got about an inch and a half overnight.
The twin cities, along with Sioux City, Iowa, and Sioux Falls, South Dakota, could expect messy commutes Monday night and Tuesday.
