Twitter all but exploded Thursday night as social media users engaged in a fierce debate over the colors of a two-toned cocktail dress, pictured below.

Even black llama says the dress is #goldandwhite And while many media outlets offered their theories about what might lie behind the dispute, perhaps MSNBC’s Ronan Farrow said it best of all: Maybe the dress just doesn't like labels.
