IIeana Ros-Lehtinen expressed her disappointment at the news that President Barack Obama’s legacy Iran deal is secured now that he has the congressional votes needed to ensure a veto will be upheld if Congress rejects the deal. Valarie Jarrett pushed for an inclusive approach to ending sexual assault on college campuses. Jarrett, an advisor to President Obama, highlighted “1 in 5 women are sexually while in college,” at the National Sexual Assault conference in Los Angeles.

Illiteracy is a $1.2 trillion “worldwide crisis,” according to a report UN director, Mandeep Dhaliwal, spotlighted. To bring it home, it could cost the United States $362 billion. The World Literacy Foundation warned that 796 million people worldwide can’t perform basic tasks that involve reading, writing, or both – and it could be costing you money.
