UFC star Ronda Rousey escalated her war of words with boxer Floyd Mayweather on Monday, telling a Reddit AMA user she could beat the undefeated champ in a “no rules fight.”
“Floyd is one of the best boxers of all time. He would definitely beat me in a boxing match. I unfortunately don’t get into ‘matches.’ I fight for a living. In a no rules fight, I believe I can beat anyone on this planet,” she wrote. “Boxing is a sweet science with strict rules that I respect very much and aspire every day to improve at. But you said ruleless fight, and that’s my honest answer.”
Rousey has become a breakout, crossover star for the UFC in part because of her own undefeated record and now legendary string of nearly instantaneous take-downs of opponents. She earned headlines this past month when she referenced Mayweather’s controversial history of domestic violence during a red carpet interview prior to this year’s ESPY Awards, where Rousey took home the Best Fighter award over the boxing icon.

“I wonder how Floyd feels being beat by a woman for once,” Rousey said. “I’d like to see you pretend to not know who I am now.” In a 2014 interview, Mayweather claimed he didn’t know who “he” was. Rousey later took home a Best Female athlete award at the ESPYS.
