It’s become so commonplace to respond to a mass shooting in America, politicians are well-versed in how to react.
MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell pointed out the history of inaction in the halls of Congress to pass new gun safety legislation: “The 12 people murdered in Washington yesterday are probably not enough to make us do something. We know that the 32 murdered at Virginia Tech were not enough,” he said.
Borrowing a question from Rep. Carolyn McCarthy, he wondered “how many” more shootings will it take to spark change?
