Catching up on your news? Here are five stories to know this morning:
1. Former President Jimmy Carter revealed Wednesday that he has cancer. The cancer was revealed after a recent surgery, during which Carter had a small mass removed from his liver. In a short statement, the 90-year-old Democrat said that he plans on re-arranging his schedule to undergo treatment at Emory Healthcare. He also said that a more complete public statement will be made when more facts are known.
2. ISIS has reportedly claimed responsibility for a massive bombing in a Shiite neighborhood in Baghdad that has killed 60 people and injured 200 others. According to officials, a refrigerator truck packed with explosives was passing through a busy market in the neighborhood and blew up, causing residents to race over and help, using their own cars to get victims to the hospital as soon as possible. This comes after ISIS has claimed responsibility for a series of attacks that have happened in similar neighborhoods.
3. A pair of warehouse explosions rocked Tianjin, China, killing at least 44 people and injuring 520, however officials believe that there are still some people who are unaccounted for. Sixty of those victims in the hospital are in critical condition. Among the devastation are collapsed buildings and hundreds of cars and trucks that went up in flames. A man about two miles away from the decimated warehouse said he thought it was another 9/11.
