It’s a free concert for a great cause.
MSNBC and NBC News are joining JAY Z, Hugh Jackman, No Doubt, Carrie Underwood, fun., The Roots, Tiësto, and other celebrities and world leaders for the Global Citizen Festival. The goal: End extreme poverty by 2030.
The Global Poverty Project will host the concert in New York City’s Central Park. For the first time ever, the festival will air live on MSNBC and MSNBC.com on September 27th at 3pm ET. NBC News will also broadcast a one-hour prime-time special from the event.
“Thousands of global citizens will gather together to convince world leaders to end extreme poverty by the year 2030,” Jackman said Wednesday on Morning Joe. “This is going to be the biggest year by far, and we’re so excited that NBC and MSNBC will be our partners.”
