Since he left “The Daily Show,” comedian Jon Stewart has grown out his beard, advocated for 9/11 first responders on Capitol Hill and most recently, prepared to open an animal sanctuary with his wife on their farm in New Jersey.
Jon and Tracey Stewart’s 12-acre Bufflehead Farm will be the fourth location for the organization Farm Sanctuary, which aims to protect animals from factory farming. There are already four pigs on the Stewarts’ sanctuary, and four sheep are expected to arrive soon.
The two were honored at a Farm Sanctuary gala on Saturday for their service to the organization.
