New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie will receive an endorsement for president from fellow Republican Gov. Larry Hogan of Maryland on Wednesday, sources told NBC News Tuesday.
Christie’s 2016 campaign told reporters Tuesday that a “special announcement” would take place at the Double T Diner in Annapolis at 10 a.m. Wednesday, but would not elaborate on details.

Hogan’s backing makes sense, as Christie was a big supporter of his 2014 gubernatorial bid as chairman of the Republican Governors Association. In February, a spokesperson for Hogan seemingly foreshadowed an endorsement, telling National Journal that Hogan believes “Gov. Christie would make a terrific president and has said that he would be willing to help Gov. Christie in any way he asked him to.”
