President Obama isn’t waiting for the fiscal cliff to be resolved before pushing for gun control.
On Monday, the president and vice president began speaking with the White House staff and several Cabinet members about gun control solutions, the Washington Post reported. Included in the meeting were Education Secretary Arne Duncan, Attorney General Eric Holder and Kathleen Sebellius, the Secretary of Health.
Vice President Biden, who spoke out against guns in his years in the Senate, will lead the charge for gun control, the Washington Post reported.
Since the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School that left 27 people—including 20 children—dead, a number of politicians have vowed to introduce policy to combat guns, particularly assault weapons like those used in by the shooter in Newtown on Friday.
