New numbers out of New Hampshire show that the race for 2016 among Republicans is wide open, as Democrats turn up the heat on Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren to challenge presumed front-runner Hillary Clinton.
According to a new Saint Anselm/Bloomberg Politics New Hampshire primary poll, likely primary voters are more inclined to vote for Jeb Bush over Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul, though Paul trumped Bush by 2% in overall favorability.
“If Jeb Bush is going to win the nomination he probably needs to win New Hampshire,” U.S. News & World Report‘s Dave Catanese said on msnbc Monday. “New Hampshire is going to be where he plants his flag.”
The poll also identified prominent “deal killers” for supporting Bush, examining his stance on immigration, common core, and continuing the Bush legacy–all issues that Texas Sen. Ted Cruz said on ABC’s This Week that Bush would have to defend if he were to run for president.
