On this Friday ahead of the inauguration, we’re taking a look at President Obama’s second term goals and his ability to push his new agenda through Congress. According to our latest NBC/Wall Street Journal poll, his popularity remains relatively high with a 52% job approval rating—but most Americans have a sour outlook on the future. Writes “First Read:”
“According to our new NBC/WSJ poll, just 35% of adults think the nation is headed in the right direction (down six points from last month); more than seven in 10 are dissatisfied with the current state of the economy; and 60% believe the coming year will be a time to hold back and save because of harder times ahead.”
We’ll talk it over with Rep. Peter Welch, D-Vt.
Plus, follow Chris Jansing on Twitter @jansingco this weekend…she’s headed to Washington, D.C. for the inauguration! Brent Colburn from the Presidential Inaugural Committee will be on today’s show to talk about the events around town this weekend.
