Time now for the Sideshow! Elsa wasn’t the only one to throw an icy blast at us this week.
On Thursday, Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-OK), chairman of the Environment and Public Works Committee, pulled a snowball out of his bag and proceeded to throw it onto the Senate floor, using it as a prop to disprove scientific claims that climate change results from human activity.
“In case we have forgotten, because we keep hearing that 2014 has been the warmest year on record, I ask the chair, ‘You know what this is?’” he said, holding up a snowball. “It’s a snowball, from outside here. So it’s very, very cold out. Very unseasonable.”
Soon after, a Twitter parody account posted what the Snowball had to say about his speech:

— Snow Ball (@InhofesSnowBall) February 26, 2015Next up, Jon Stewart of the “Daily Show” slammed the Obama administration’s treatment of whistleblowers and the Espionage Act.
It all started when the whistle was blown by Herve Falcani on the British bank, HSBC, for allegedly aiding tax evasion by clients. Instead of prosecution, Falcani was rewarded by Switzerland with charges of industrial espionage.
But here in the United States, former NSA official Thomas Drake, who shared information with the Baltimore Sun, had his life ruined by the Espionage Act. While other countries seem to reward these whistleblowers for sharing valuable information, the United States continues to prosecute– “Of the 11 times in our entire history that the Espionage Act has been used against government workers sharing information with journalists, seven of them have been under this presidency.”
