It didn’t go unnoticed that Rick Santorum’s endorsement of his one-time competitor Mitt Romney as the Republican nominee for president came buried in the 13th paragraph of a late-night email to supporters May 7.
Santorum dropped out of the Republican race for president about a month ago in early April when it became clear that Romney’s delegate lead would make it nearly impossible for his challengers to find a path forward. Michele Bachmann and Newt Gingrich also recently pledged support to Romney after dropping out of the GOP race.
