Hate speech is always ugly, but hate speech from the mouth of a child is a particular kind of horror. Tonight on The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell, we saw a shocking video of a toddler singing a playful-sounding hymn that ends with the line: “Ain’t no homo gonna make it to heaven.”
Rep. Barney Frank, who came out of the closet on this day 25 years ago, appeared on The Last Word tonight and was clear about what was on display in the disturbing video shot at the Apostolic Truth Tabernacle in Greensburg, Indiana.
Frank said that the Republican Party and some fringe religious groups have angrily seized on the issue of gay marriage. But, he added, “they are going to lose.”
