Today’s installment of campaign-related news items from across the country.
* The latest national Fox News poll, released over the weekend, found Joe Biden leading Donald Trump, 51% to 46%. This is Fox News’ first national 2020 poll of likely voters, so there’s no trend line.
* The latest set of data from New York Times/Siena College polls found Biden leading Trump in Minnesota (50% to 41%), New Hampshire (45% to 42%), Nevada (46% to 42%), and Wisconsin (48% to 43%).
* Campaigning in Florida is extremely impressive — it has several major media markets, spread out over hundreds of miles — which is why Team Biden was no doubt thrilled to see former New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg commit to spending $100 million in the Sunshine State in support of the Democratic ticket.
* Rep. Tom Graves (R-Ga.) was already retiring, but on Friday, the Republican congressman announced he’s stepping down from Congress altogether next month. He’ll soon be replaced by Marjorie Taylor Greene, a right-wing conspiracy theorist who no longer has a major-party opponent in November.
