Super Tuesday Showdown: The race in Ohio is tightening — a new Quinnipiac poll finds Rick Santorum hanging onto a slim lead over Mitt Romney, 35% to 31%. Santorum’s lead was seven points last week. And now The New York Times reports that Romney has reopened his ‘whatever-it-takes’ strategy, trying to bury his rival with negative ads.
Meanwhile, Newt Gingrich is fighting to stay relevant, counting on a victory in his home state of Georgia to keep him going. And that’s a pretty low bar for the man who once said he’d be the nominee.
