The Super Bowl is the second-largest day for consumption of food and drink in America, right after Thanksgiving Day.
3. Americans will eat an estimated 1.25 billion chicken wings while watching the Super Bowl this year.
According to the National Chicken Council, that is enough to put 572 wings on each seat in all 32 NFL stadiums.
4. Advertising during Super Bowl XLIX will cost an estimated $150,000 per second.
NBC is expected to charge $4.5 million per 30-second spot during this year’s game.
5. Each member of the winning team in Super Bowl XLIX will get a “players share” of $97,000 per player.
The losing team gets $49,000 per player. For comparison, the Green Bay Packers, who won the first Super Bowl in 1967 were paid $15,000 per player.
