After Hillary Clinton’s dominant fundraising haul over the summer and fall, the tables have turned in the race to gain more donor support. For three consecutive months, Bernie Sanders has out-raised Clinton, with the most recent month being his largest margin yet. The Sanders campaign announced on April 1 it raised $44 million in March, to Clinton’s 29.5 million. That said, despite taking in more fundraising dollars since the first of the year, the Sanders campaign still trails Clinton in delegates, which will determine who becomes the Democratic Party nominee. According to the NBC News Delegate Tracker, Sanders trails Clinton by 680 delegates. His campaign will need to win the remaining states by double-digit margins to narrow that gap.
