- Hillary Clinton got defensive at a contentious news conference in Las Vegas regarding her email server. A combative Clinton aggressively insisted that the investigation into her email server “has nothing to do with the fact that the account was personal.” She maintained that she was cooperative and voluntarily handed over 55,000 pages of “anything” that “could be work related.” Despite asserting that she did not send any information classified as confidential from her private email server, the team of intelligence community reviewers have identified 305 classified documents from her email server.
- Customers of AshleyMadison.com were in for a rude awakening late Tuesday when their information was leaked to the dark web, after the website was hacked around a month ago. The owner of the website, which allows married individuals to have affairs with each other, is investigating the validity of the information that was leaked. The information leaked included member account details, logins and payment transaction details.
- A controversial pill aimed at increasing a woman’s sexual drive was just approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The “little pink pill,” which will be marketed under the brand name Addyi, works by increasing the amount of serotonin, a neurotransmitter, in a woman’s brain. The drug was rejected by the agency twice, before finally being accepted after the pharmaceutical company, Sprout, launched a heavy public relations campaign. The campaign insisted that the drug be approved so that woman have a drug akin to Viagra or Cialis, drugs used by men with erectile dysfunction.
- The accuser in the St. Paul’s School rape trial took the stand on Tuesday, breaking down in tears as she identified the man who allegedly assaulted her in the school in May of last year. The girl who was 15 years-old at the time of the alleged assault claims that Owen Labrie sexually assaulted her. During her time on the stand, the accuser recounted how Labrie, then 18, sent her an email message proposing they spend time together. The girl initially refused but reconsidered after speaking with a classmate. The court adjourned as the girl’s testimony was in progress but she is expected to take the stand again on Tuesday.
- Rosie O’Donnell announced that her 17-year-old missing daughter has been found on Tuesday. She tweeted at 6:30 p.m. ET that her daughter “is safe in police custody.” In the tweet, she thanked everyone for “all the help and light.” Earlier that day, O’Donnell said that her daughter, Chelsea O’Donnell, was missing.
