President Obama is prepared to honor his promise to a top college athlete for a dance battle — but don’t expect to see it on camera.
“Stefanie, I did not forget that you challenged me to a dance-off last year,” Obama told University of Connecticut star basketball player Stefanie Dolson Monday as she visited the White House with the rest of the NCAA championship team.
Dolson visited the White House last summer alongside her fellow Huskies to celebrate the prior year’s championship, and she used her face-time with the president to challenge him to a dance-off.
“It is going to happen. It is going to happen,” Obama said to applause at this week’s reception. “Don’t think that I — don’t think that you’re going to beat me on that.”
“I also appreciate that you told the world about it after the title game,” he added. “I have daughters in junior high and high school, and for their sake, I will not be dancing too much while the cameras are around.”
