Former President George W. Bush gave his brother a boost today, when threw his support behind a third Bush in the Oval Office.
“I think he would be a great president,” the former president said in a CNN interview that will air this afternoon, according to the network.
The 43rd president—whose approval ratings have been on the rise—is far more optimistic about his brother’s candidacy than the poll numbers that have emerged this week.
On Wednesday, an NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll showed the former Florida governor drawing poor favorability ratings. On Thursday, a Quinnipiac poll saw him losing to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in his home state of Florida.
“I have no clue what’s on his mind and we will talk when he’s ready. I noticed he’s moving around the country quite a bit,” the former president continued. Bush stands in contrast to his mother, who said last year that the country has had “enough Bushes” in the White House.
