You’ve got to hand it to Michele Bachmann. She’s sure got a lot of choot-spa!
119 days after she dropped out of the presidential race, the Tea Party congresswoman from Minnesota, finally decided to endorse presumptive GOP nominee Mitt Romney.
“This is the last chance we have to keep America from going ‘forward,’ over the cliff, as Governor Romney said, and restore the values of prosperity and freedom,” she said in a statement before appearing today with Romney in Virginia.
But once again, the party symbolized by the elephant has no memory (or understanding of archive video). Shortly before dropping out of the race in January, Bachmann was asked if Romney can beat Obama:
“No, he can’t beat Obama because his policy is the basis of Obamacare. The signature issue of President Obama is Obamacare. You can’t have a candidate who has given the blueprint for Obamacare. It’s too identical. It’s not going to happen. We have to have a bold, distinct candidate in the likeness of a Ronald Reagan.” And that was just one of many nasty things Bachmann said about Romney during the campaign. Sounds like she’s since bought her own Etch A Sketch. Bachmann, however, cannot erase the past that easily. Her presidential campaign is still $1 million in debt (as of the end of March), according to Federal Election Commission records. And now she’s facing a stiff challenge for re-election in Minnesota’s 6th Congressional District from hotelier Jim Graves.
