After all the campaigning, political stumping, ads, and debates, we are one day from Election Day. On Tuesday, all the speculation will (hopefully) be put to rest once the votes are counted and we see who will be the next president. The national polls are showing the president up 0.4 percent, which, when you take the margin of error into account, amounts to a virtual tie. Therefore, in order to predict who may win Tuesday evening, you need to look at the battleground map, where the president has a small lead in key swing states.
Over the course of the past week, the Cyclists have been inspecting different battleground states for indicators of how the election may go. Though both candidates have put on a confident face, no really knows how this will all turn out.
One thing is clear: By focusing their campaign efforts in Ohio, both President Obama and Romney have indicated they think that the state could decide the race. The battleground state, which holds 18 electoral votes, is currently showing a lead for Obama: 49.6 percent to Romney’s 46.8 percent. In 2004, a change of about 70,000 votes in Ohio could have meant a President Kerry.
