San Francisco’s BatKid is now a hero in his own right.
After saving the city from certain doom just last month, Miles Scott will be reunited with Commissioner Gordon (San Francisco Police Chief Greg Suhr) on Saturday as a part of the Make-A-Wish foundation’s Brave the Bay fundraiser. Miles will lead the 5K walk/run, scheduled to begin at 8:30am on Saturday at Aquatic Park at Jefferson and Hyde streets.
But this little superhero isn’t stopping there. His own wish-come-true drew the attention of thousands across the globe and now the Scott family is hoping to be able to pay it forward to other kids still fighting serious illnesses. “We’ve decided to create the Batkid Fund with 100% of proceeds to be distrubuted to the three organizations that helped us cope during Miles’ three-year battle,” Miles parents said in a statement.
“I hope you will join us in supporting and helping others. It seems only fitting that following a day when the world demonstrated caring and compassion for Batkid … Batkid can now help others.”
